Kenneth Nelson, Jr Ed.S, MTE, MTEnt 

Vice-President - E.P.I.C Academy

Mr. Kenneth Nelson, Jr is a native of Jackson, MS.  He is the oldest of three brothers born to the union of Mr. Kenneth and Gayle Nelson.  Kenneth attended Grace Christian School and Southside Christian School in grades K-5.  He attended Chastain Middle School and graduated in 2004 from Murrah High School in the Jackson Public School District.

Mr. Kenneth Nelson continued his education by attending Hind Community College in Raymond, MS where he graduated with an Associate of the Arts Degree in 2006.  Kenneth received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science from Belhaven University in 2008.  In 2009, Nelson began teaching and coaching football at Canton High School.  He returned to Belhaven University to receive a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education in 2011.  While attending Delta State University, Nelson received a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision in 2017.

Mr. Kenneth Nelson has served as a well accomplished educator in several school districts in North Central Mississippi spanning over 13 years.  After finishing a three year stint at Canton High School, Nelson served three years at McAdams High School from 2012-15 teacher Health and Physical Education.  From 2015-2018, Kenneth also taught Physical Education at Holmes County Central High School.  During the 2018-2019 school years, Nelson served as the Physical Education instructor at Leake Central Junior High School.  Kenneth returned to McAdams High School to teach Social Studies from 2019-2022.  In 2022 Nelson led his Economics students to the Mississippi Council of Economic Education’s Economics Challenge State Championship.  In the same year Nelson also led his economics students to the Mississippi Region 4 Championship in the Stock Market Game. In 2023, E.P.I.C. Academy's 1st Year, Nelson led the high school boys to the MS Region 4 Championship in the Stock Market Game. 

Kenneth is presently a licensed Administrator with the Mississippi Department of Education. 

With his wife, Mr. Nelson Co-founded, Co-owns, and is the Vice President of E.P.I.C Academy.  Empowerment, Preparatory, Independent, Christian Academy is a K-12 private school focused on Empowering Minds to become Future Leaders to leave a Global Impact Worldwide.   

Kenneth is a licensed Life Producer in the State of Mississippi and Louisiana and also licensed as a Registered Representative in the State of Mississippi in Securities and Investments through FINRA.  He is an independent rep for PFS Investments, Inc.  He works with individuals and businesses in developing generational wealth, income protection, retirement planning, short-term and long-term investing, and much, much more.

Mr. Kenneth Nelson, Jr and Mrs. Traciellya Nelson have four daughters:  Katelyn, Tracelyn, CeKenya, and Z’leiya.  Kenneth serves as associate minister at Mt. Pilgrim M.B Church where Rev. Katherine Weatherby is the pastor.



Traciellya Nelson Ed. S 

President - E.P.I.C. Academy

Mrs. Traciellya Nelson is a native of Sallis, MS.  She is the youngest of five daughters born to the union of Mr. Richard and Katherine Weatherby.  Traciellya attended Long Creek Elementary and McAdams High School where she graduated in 2003.

Mrs. Traciellya Nelson continued her education by attending Holmes Community College in Goodman, MS where she graduated with an Associate of the Arts Degree in 2006.  From there she attended Mississippi State University and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.  After graduation she went on to work with the Department of Human Services as a Social Worker, she ensured that children were provided for their physical, social, emotional, and mental needs.  After working with DHS, she started her career as an educator upon completion of the educator licensure exam in 2011.  Throughout her tenure, she has taught Special Education, Reading, & English.  She continued her education at Mississippi State University where she graduated in 2014 with a Master’s of the Arts in Teaching Degree in Community College Education with a concentration in History.  After considering the need for well rounded, faith entrusted leaders in our society, Traciellya set out to continue her educational efforts through obtaining an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Delta State University in 2017. 

Mrs. Traciellya Nelson has served as a well accomplished educator in several school districts in North Central Mississippi spanning over 10 years.  She has taught at Long Creek Elementary and two stints at McAdams High School both located in Sallis, MS.  Traciellya spent three years in the Holmes County School District teaching at William Dean Elementary and Holmes County Central High School both located in Lexington, MS.  Her teaching experience also includes one year at Leake Central Jr High School in Carthage, MS. 

Traciellya is presently a licensed Administrator with the Mississippi Department of Education.
